Soccer

Yesterday was a happy day. It was the first day of soccer! As you can see from the pictures, Nolan is on the red team. He was a little disappointed because he wanted to be on the blue team, but once he saw that the blue team was actually turquoise he was ok with the red. He got his team off to a good start by scoring the first two goals of the games, and then went on to score 2 more. The final score was 7 to 2 for Nolan's team. The score is never kept, but some how the kids always know the final score at the end of the game.

This is a story I will share so that when Nolan has a 6 year old son of his own he will know how it feels to be the parent. Thursday I picked Nolan up from school and his teacher told me that Nolan didn't have such a good day. Apparently on the soccer field during the morning recess he called someone a crybaby and then during the afternoon recess he not so politely told another kid that he was a bad goalie. We have since be trying to develop sportsmanship.

My Little Missionary
The other day we were driving home from school; we carpool with another kid named Colson. Nolan was telling Colson that he was his brother. Colson was a little confused and so Nolan goes, "mom tell him, tell him how we are all brothers and sisters", me being the wonderful missionary that I am pretended not to hear and turned the music up a little bit. Nolan told Colson that at church we call everyone brother and sister because we all lived in heaven together. I was proud of Nolan and somewhat impressed that he actually knew why we called each other brother and sister. Sometimes you never think they hear what they are being taught.
